Funded by San Bernardino County with support from Friends of Big Bear Alpine Zoo, the enhancements were designed to improve animal wellness while creating a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors.

The new structures offer increased protection from the elements, helping support the health and well-being of the animals while also improving visibility and comfort for guests. These upgrades strengthen the zoo’s role as a valued educational and conservation resource for the county and the broader community.
