The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works has completed the Needles Highway Segment 1C Project, delivering roadway and drainage improvements in the Needles area.
The approximately $7.6 million project improved County-maintained roads through a combination of pavement rehabilitation and drainage work. Improvements included pulverization of existing asphalt surfacing, cement-treated subgrade, asphalt paving, concrete cutoff walls, rock slope protection, pavement markings, signage and striping.
The project was funded by the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), Major Local Highways Program (MLHP), and Surface Transportation Program (STP).
These improvements help extend the useful life of the County’s transportation infrastructure while providing improved roadway conditions for residents, businesses and motorists traveling through the project area. The work also supports safety, mobility and long-term infrastructure reliability in the Needles community.
