Honoring Veterans. Supporting Community. Remembering Service.
On September 24, Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District staff joined local veterans and community partners to help install a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall at Ski Beach.
The traveling memorial provided residents and visitors with a powerful opportunity to honor the men and women who served during the Vietnam War and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
District staff worked side by side with members of the veteran community to prepare and install the Wall, helping ensure the site was ready to welcome visitors. The effort was completed in partnership with the American Legion of Big Bear and the City of Big Bear Lake, reflecting the strong community collaboration that helped make the memorial possible.
Hosting the Wall at Ski Beach created a meaningful place for reflection, remembrance, and connection, while giving the Big Bear community an opportunity to come together in recognition of the service and sacrifice of Vietnam veterans.
