The San Bernardino County Flood Control District (SBCFCD) has successfully secured $599,998 in funding from FEMA for the Big Bear Master Plan of Drainage (MPD). This plan will provide detailed hydrology and hydraulic (H&H) analyses to identify areas with the highest flood risk, prioritize mitigation projects, and recommend appropriate sizing, alignments, and cost estimates for proposed and alternative flood control systems. These systems are designed to protect against 100-year storm events. The MPD will serve as a crucial guide for implementing effective flood protection measures in the unincorporated areas east of Big Bear Lake.
