The San Bernardino County Flood Control District has completed the Elder Creek Channel Improvement Project from 600 Feet South of Abbey Way North to Old Greenspot Road in the Highland area. The project construction contract cost was $16,701,175 and was funded by the County General Fund, a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and a loan using Property Tax Revenue. The work, in general, consists of constructing 2,100 linear feet of flood-control improvements to the Elder Creek drainage system south of Old Greenspot Road and north of its confluence with Plunge Creek in the City of Highlands. This project aligns with the County and Board of Supervisors’ goals and objectives of ensuring the development of a well-planned, balanced, and sustainable county and providing for the safety, health, and social service needs of County Residents.
