Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District welcomed thousands of visitors to LakeFest 2025, held August 22–24 at Ski Beach Park. The three-day celebration brought the community together for paddle and swim competitions, lakeside music, family fun, and a chance to close out the summer on the shores of Big Bear Lake.

LakeFest is more than just an event. It reflects the Recreation and Park District’s commitment to creating safe, enjoyable, and memorable experiences for residents and visitors. From hosting the signature Paddle LakeFest and Swim LakeFest races to providing the stage for concerts, family activities, and community entertainment, the District made sure the weekend offered something for all ages.

Highlights of LakeFest 2025

  • Paddle LakeFest: Stand-up paddleboard and kayak relay races open to beginners and seasoned paddlers alike.
  • Swim LakeFest: 1.2-mile and 2.4-mile open water races across Big Bear Lake.
  • Live Music and Entertainment: Concerts by local and national performers, comedy acts, BMX stunt demonstrations, and community showcases.
  • Family Zone: Activities designed for children, including games, interactive art, and kid-friendly performances.
  • Food and Refreshments: A beer garden and local food vendors provided a place to relax and enjoy lakeside dining.
  • Community Spirit: Free admission, accessible activities, and transit partnerships to make the event welcoming for everyone.

A Community Celebration

LakeFest 2025 was made possible by the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District’s leadership in planning and organizing. With support from Mountain Transit, Big Bear Cycling Association, and local businesses, the event strengthened community connections while highlighting the unique recreational opportunities Big Bear has to offer.

Looking Ahead

LakeFest has quickly grown into a Big Bear Valley summer tradition. Planning is already underway for LakeFest 2026, which will feature even bigger races, expanded entertainment, and the same lakeside atmosphere that makes this event a highlight of the year.
