Needles Highway Segment 1C Project
Project Overview
The San Bernardino County Department of Public Works has completed the Needles Highway Segment 1C Project, a roadway improvement project designed to improve pavement conditions and strengthen drainage infrastructure in the Needles area.
Work included pulverization of existing asphalt surfacing, cement-treated subgrade, asphalt paving, concrete cutoff walls, rock slope protection, pavement markings, signage and striping.
Project Location
The project improved County-maintained roadway infrastructure in the Needles area.
Project Completion
Construction of the Needles Highway Segment 1C Project has been completed.
Community Benefits
The improvements help extend the useful life of the roadway, improve driving conditions and support safer and more reliable travel for residents, businesses and motorists throughout the project area.
The project also strengthens drainage infrastructure and supports the County’s continued investment in transportation improvements that enhance mobility and quality of life in the communities it serves.
Project Funding
The project represented an investment of approximately $8 million.
Funding was provided through the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), Major Local Highways Program (MLHP), and Surface Transportation Program (STP).
