The San Bernardino County Public Works Department has completed the Santa Ana River Trail Phase III with the Mission Zanja Bridge Project on the Santa Ana River Trail in the San Bernardino Area. The project construction contract cost was $5,489,591 for SART III and $2,473,897 for Mission Zanja Bridge. The projects were funded with Active Transportation Program, California State Coastal Conservancy grand funds managed by the Regional Parks Department, and with the Community Service Upgrades General Fund Reserve. The work, in general, consists of Portland cement concrete and asphalt concrete bike trail; retaining wall; culverts; access ramps; place fabricated bridge on the Mission Zanja River with concrete abutment and doing other work appurtenant thereto. The project aligns with the County and the Chief Executive Officer’s goals and objectives of ensuring the development of a well-planned, balanced, and sustainable County by installing a regional bicycle trail with a bridge crossing and providing Safety, Health and Social service needed for County Residents.
