DPW operations crews recently complete a project on the county-maintained portion of Smoke Tree Road, from Baldy Mesa Rd to Aster Rd within the community of Baldy Mesa. The road conditions had deteriorated rapidly after two years of above average precipitation and storm activity in the area. Our Operations staff applied a thin (less than 1”) overly along the .95-mile-long roadway. The thin maintenance overlay is a surface treatment utilized to temporarily extend the life of the roadway until a more substantial project can be planned in the future.
