San Bernardino County Public Works has completed the installation of 109 new truck route signs throughout the county, helping commercial drivers more easily identify designated truck routes and navigate County roads.
The project is part of the County’s work to meet new requirements under Assembly Bill 98 (AB 98) related to commercial truck routes. Public Works worked with Land Use Services to identify designated truck routes on County-maintained roads and install clear, consistent signs along those routes.
The new signs give truck drivers better guidance about which routes to follow. Keeping commercial trucks on designated routes can also help reduce unnecessary truck traffic on other local roads and support safer, more predictable travel for surrounding communities.
The project began June 29 and was completed September 4, 2026. In just over two months, Public Works staff coordinated the planning, manufacturing, utility checks and field work needed to safely install all 109 signs.
The project is one more way San Bernardino County Public Works is working to improve the County’s transportation system. By providing clearer directions for commercial drivers, these new signs help keep traffic moving on appropriate routes while supporting safer roads for residents, businesses and visitors.
