The Department of Public Works is pleased to announce the completion of the Newmark Elementary School Sidewalk Project in the Arrowhead Farms area!

The $1.2 million project was funded through the Department of Public Works’ General Fund allocation for the Maintenance of Effort requirement under the Senate Bill 1 – Road Repair and Accountability Act, along with Community Development Block Grant funds administered by the Community Development and Housing Department.

The project included the construction of new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveway approaches, and curb ramps, all designed to meet current engineering standards and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. These improvements provide safer, more accessible routes for students, families, and pedestrians in the community.

This initiative aligns with the County and Board of Supervisors’ goals of promoting a well-planned, balanced, and sustainable infrastructure while prioritizing public safety and accessibility for all residents.
