The Phelan Road Bridge was damaged by an intense tropical storm and was closed to vehicular traffic since the end of August. Board of Supervisors and County leadership understood how important this road is to the High Desert community and prioritized this emergency repair. Working closely together with the partner agencies, we fixed the damage and opened the road prior to the Holidays in December. We express our gratitude to the community, partner agencies, and County leadership for their collaborative efforts that enabled us to complete this repair in an impressively short timeframe.
