The San Bernardino County has completed the Wabash Avenue and Other Roads Project on approximately 32 miles of roads within the Redlands, Mentone and Yucaipa areas. Construction began in November 2022 and was completed in August 2023, this included a suspension of work due to temperature limitations of some of the asphalt treatments. The Project was funded with Measure I Local Streets Program – San Bernardino Valley Subarea funds and by the City of Redlands. The Wabash Avenue and Other Roads Project consists of milling and overlaying with various resurfacing treatments, namely: Rubberized Hot Mixed Asphalt, Slurry Seal, Fiber Slurry Seal, Chip Seal, Leveling Course including Patch; painting stripes and pavement markings. The Project aligns with the County and Board of Supervisor’s goals and objectives of ensuring the development of a well-planned, balanced, and sustainable county and providing safety, health, and social service needs of County residents.
